I’d like to keep you informed throughout the school year about the things that are going on in our building and also introduce you to our teachers and staff members. I’ll begin by introducing myself. My name is Joellen Esber and I am the principal for the 2006-2007 school year. All of my schooling experiences, outside of my masters, has been in a Catholic setting. I feel very fortunate to have spent my years in Catholic schools. I am a graduate of St. Joseph elementary School, Central Catholic High School and Walsh University. I graduated from Ashland University with my masters. Catholic schools have been a part of my life since my birth. My mother began teaching at St. Josephs when I was in 1st grade, she was my teacher! Many of you know her, Anne Maccora she has been a member of St. Josephs Parish since 1955. Her years of dedication and commitment to Catholic Schools is something I will never forget. She worked 2 jobs for many years to supplement her pay, but she never thought of leaving for the public system. I thank her for her quiet example of faith and trust in God that she modeled for all of us. I am married to Mark “Service” Esber and we have 3 boys. Matthew is 21 and a Junior at Kent State University, Christopher is 19 and a Sophomore at Notre Dame University, and Jonathan is 16 and a Junior at Central Catholic High School. They also, Mark included, are products of Catholic education! I am very excited about “leading” St. Joseph School this year. I am fortunate to have a group of talented and dedicated teachers who make my job easy. At St. Joseph we have rich traditions and a history of excellence in education, we continue to provide the same to the students of today. We are thankful for the Sisters of St. Joseph and those dedicated lay teachers whose guidance and example of education and faith are still prevalent today! |
