Dear Parents,                                                                                 September 2007

Welcome to fifth grade!!!  I will be your child’s homeroom teacher.  Fifth grade involves an outstanding team effort.  Mrs. Hug, Miss Grossi, and I try to keep policies and procedures consistent since all students spend time in each of our classes.   Mrs. Hug will teach Religion, Science, and Spelling.  Miss Grossi will teach Social Studies.  I will teach Math, English, and Reading.

Our library day is Monday.  Please remind your child to bring back books on Mondays.   Friday is our gym day.  Gym clothes must be worn in order to participate in gym.   “Nut Award” clothing cannot be substituted for gym clothes.

As fifth graders, students should know their math facts.  If your child still struggles with basic math facts, please spend time working on these at home.  We will be moving into more challenging math and students will fall behind if they are still having difficulty mastering basic math facts.

I am looking forward to a great year with your child.  Please feel free to stop in or call me if you have any questions or concerns.

                                                Sincerely,

                                                Mrs. Stoffer
